Google is a great resource! I have used it for year when searching for or sharing information. Now, with thing #12, I know that it can be used for so much more. I dove right into this project. I am always looking for ways to stay more organized. I work, go to school, and have two very active boys. Google calendar allows me to organize our schedule and share them with grandparents. No matter where I am, I can access the calendar to view or make changes. I also set up and email to remind me the day before and text message me 2 hours before the event. This technology will be a lifesaver for educators. Google calendars will keep their busy schedules organized and keep them connected. An educator could set up a class calendar that is shared with parents.
I also set up a Google alert for topics that I found important. I set up an alert for the town I work in, local news, and our local high school teams. An e-mail will be sent to inform me of news on the subjects I chose.
